What if I'm a princess on another planet and no one on this planet knows it?

(609)
Every time I feel bad,
I try to remind myself about what this little kid said to me once.
She was loaded with personality. So ugly she was cute.
And you knew she knew it too. "Carrie?" she asked.
"What if I'm a princess on another planet and no one on this planet knows it?"
That question still kind of blows me away. I mean, isn't it the truth?
Whoever we are here, we might be princesses somewhere else.
Or writers. Or scientists. Or presidents.
Or whatever the hell we want to be that everyone else says we can't.

It’s not where I live happily ever after, or who with.
It’s the fact that I will live happily ever after, no matter what.

I don’t believe in failure, because simply by saying you’ve failed,
you’ve admitted you attempted. And anyone who attempts is not a failure.
Those who truly fail in my eyes are the ones who never try at all.
The ones who sit on the couch and whine and moan
and wait for the world to change for them.

Tragedy blows through your life like a tornado,
uprooting everything, creating chaos. You wait for the dust to settle,
and then you choose. You can live in the wreckage and pretend
it's still the mansion you remember. Or you can crawl from the rubble
and slowly rebuild. Because after disaster strikes, the important thing
is that you move on. But if you're like me, you just keep chasing the storm.
The problem with chasing the storm is that it wears you down,
breaks your spirit. Even the experts agree, a girl needs closure.

There’s a story behind everything.
How a picture got on a wall. How a scar got on your face.
Sometimes the stories are simple, and sometimes they are hard and heartbreaking.
But behind all your stories is always your mother’s story,
because her's is where your's begins.
Mitch Albom

You've got a lot of choices.

As I started to picture the trees in the storm,
the answer began to dawn on me. The trees in the storm
don't try to stand up straight and tall and erect. They allow themselves
to bend and be blown with the wind. They understand the power of letting go.
Those trees and those branches that try too hard to stand up
strong and straight are the ones that break. Now is not the time
for you to be strong, Julia, or you, too, will break.
Julia Butterfly Hill
