“I’m bored” is a useless thing to say...

“I’m bored” is a useless thing to say.
You live in a great, big, vast world that you’ve seen none percent of.
Even the inside of your own mind is endless. It goes on forever, inwardly.
You understand? The fact the you’re alive is amazing. So you don’t get to be bored.

What do we teach our children?
We teach them that two and two make four,
and that Paris is the capital of France.
When will we also teach them what they are? We should say to each of them:
Do you know what you are? You are a marvel. You are unique.
In all the years that have passed, there has never been another child like you.
Your legs, your arms, your clever fingers, the way you move.
You may become a Shakespeare, a Michelangelo, a Beethoven.
You have the capacity for anything. Yes, you are a marvel.
And when you grow up, can you then harm another who is, like you, a marvel?
You must work, we must all work, to make the world worthy of its children.
Pablo Picasso

We're all damaged, it seems. Some of us more than others.
We carry the damage with us from childhood, then as grown-ups,
we give as good as we get. Ultimately, we all do damage.
And then, we set about the business of fixing whatever we can.

In desperate love, we always invent the characters of our partners,
demanding they be what we need of them, and then feeling devastated
when they refuse to perform the role we created in the first place.

What good is the warmth of summer,
without the cold of winter to give it sweetness.

But I’d rather help than watch. I’d rather have a heart than a mind.
I’d rather expose too much than too little.
I’d rather say hello to strangers than be afraid of them.
I would rather know all this about myself than have more money than I need.
I’d rather have something to love than a way to impress you.
Po Bronson

It takes a great deal of courage to stand up to your enemies
but a great deal more to stand up to your friends.

So you blew me off for a bottle of tequila? Tequila's no good for you.
It doesn't call, doesn't write, not nearly as much fun to wake up to.
