Good intentions hold me together and I hope that counts for something...

(142)
I am made of one hundred percent flaws
and I can promise there is not one ounce of perfection in me,
but good intentions hold me together
and I hope that counts for something.

I've been lying in this bed for close to a year
and I've had a lot of time to look back on my life.
And the things that I remember best...
Those are the things I wasn't supposed to do and I did them anyway.
The thing is, life is too damn short to be following these rules.
Grey’s Anatomy

What they say is "life goes on" and that is mostly true.
The mail is delivered and the Christmas lights go up
and the ladders get put away and you open yet another box of cereal.
In time, the volume of my feelings would be turned down in gentle increments
to a near quiet, and yet the record would still spin, always spin.

Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts.
Don’t put up with those who are reckless with yours.
Mary Schmich

Life is too short to waste your time, energy & love on a fucking asshole.

Some people feel the rain. Others just get wet.

When we hold each other, in the darkness, it doesn’t make the darkness go away.
The bad things are still out there. The nightmares still walking.
When we hold each other we feel not safe, but better.
“It’s all right” we whisper, “I’m here, I love you.”
For just a moment or two the darkness doesn’t seem so bad.
Neil Gaiman

A friend is someone who gives you total freedom to be yourself,
and especially to feel, or not feel.
Whatever you happen to be feeling at any moment is fine with them.
That’s what real love amounts to, letting a person be what he really is.
Jim Morrison

This is why I'm here on this planet, at this time, Francesca.
Not to travel or make pictures, but to love you. I know that now.
I have been falling from the rim of a great, high place,
somewhere back in time, for many more years than I have lived in this life.
And through all of those years, I have been falling toward you.
Robert James Waller

I’m so afraid because I am so profoundly happy.
Happiness like this is frightening.
They only let you be this happy if they are preparing to take something from you.

I believe we write our own stories.
And each time we think we know the end, we don’t.

When we were five, they asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up.
Our things were answers like astronaut, president, or in my case, princess…
When we were ten, they asked us again.
We answered - rock star, cowboy, or in my case, gold medalist…
But now that we’ve grown up, they want a more serious answer.
Well, how about this… Who the hell knows?
This isn’t a time to make hard and fast decisions. This is the time to make mistakes.
Take the wrong train and get stuck somewhere.
Fall in love - a lot.
Major in philosophy because there’s no way to make a career out of that.
Change your mind. Then change it again because nothing is permanent.
So make as many mistakes as you can.
That way, someday, when they ask again what we want to be…
We won’t have to guess. We’ll know.
